Walerian Borowczyk (born 2 September 1923 at Kwilicz, near Poznan) is a Polish film director. He exposed painting at the Academy of Fine Arts inside Kraków, then devoted himself to painting & lithography, including the creation of posters for the cinema. Inside 1959 he settled inside Paris.

He directed Forty films between 1946 & 1988.

His early films were surreal animations, some simply two or three seconds hanker, including many comical abecedaria.
